As you may know, LOBO has been engaged in an effort to collaborate with other GA type clubs. The first major accomplishment was EAA's Type Club Coalition, which EAA describes as "an organization of owners and builders groups brought together for the common purpose of increasing the level of safety in the general aviation community." Not to be outdone, AOPA has decided to get in on the action with a new program from the Air Safety Institute called Learn and Earn. From ASI's acting President, George Perry:
Get rewarded and fly safer! Enter the “Learn and Earn” Safety Challenge
Hone your skills, have some fun, and earn a chance to win a Stratus 2 ADS-B receiver from Sporty’s Pilot Shop.
There are two ways to win. For those who need a place to start, take the Air Safety Institute’s “Learn and Earn” Safety Challenge. This matches you with a free course tailored specifically to your experience level and flying style. Take the challenge as many times as you like. For those familiar with the Air Safety Institute, go to your online transcript to see the list of courses that are eligible for the prize drawing.
Either way, every time you complete a qualified course you will automatically receive an additional entry into the prize drawing—so take more courses, gain more knowledge, and earn more chances to win.
The winner of this kick-off challenge will be announced on March 31, 2015. The “Learn and Earn” Safety Challenge continues throughout 2015, with 4 quarterly prize drawings and winners announced each quarter.
Take the challenge now and visit the website for complete rules and additional details. Good luck!
