Hi everyone...

I just found this email sitting in my mailbox, it's one of the messages

which was eaten by my computer while I was out of town.  I hope all you LIV

builders will gather together and help Kevin's Dad out, he's hoping for

some input.

Good to be back to a working computer <g>.

Hello Marv,

Got your email address from Jim at Lancair Network News and have searched

the complete list archives before mailing you.

My father is a Lancair IV-P builder/owner and asked me to find other Lancair

owners who are using the Continental TSIO 550-B2B engine. His is suffering

from premature high oil consumption and an alarmingly high content of nickel

and iron (based on oil analysis) after just 400 hours.

The Continental warranty is practically useless at this point in assuming

much of the costs of re-building.  He'd like to get in touch with all other

Lancair owners who are having to overhaul their Continental TSIO 550-B2B

engines prematurely.

Can you give us a hand?  Would you mind giving my father, Carl A. La Rue, a

call in Ohio at 740-439-4988 to discuss this with him?

Your help is greatly appreciated, sir!

Thanks in advance, Kevin La Rue
