THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE TO DECOMPRESSION DISASTER
OXYGEN it has to be set up in advance. WAY IN ADVANCE while preflighting, hook up the OX mask and TEST IT; leave it dangling and in the event of decompression, you have the life saving connection, ten seconds away NOT ENOUGH to know where the mask is located; not enough to know how to turn it on, in the event of a decompression you are going to be quite busy troubleshooting and flying the plane FLIGHT LEVELS Oxygen would have save two lives in a TBM OR 6,000 feet per minute right now FOR EXAMPLE Payne Stewart died in a Lear Jet. the plane required two pilots and one of them had to be wearing Oxygen at all times when at 39,000 feet. if they had, they would all likely still be alive i) At least one pilot at the controls shall wear, secured and sealed, an oxygen mask that either supplies oxygen at all times or automatically supplies oxygen whenever the cabin pressure altitude exceeds 12,000 feet MSL; and |
