night with a new GPS satellite... I can't imagine that they would degrade the rest of the system to facilitate the insertion of a new satellite,

This would be life-threatening for golfers who want 1-meter accuracy on their smartphone based Golf GPS apps...

As for flying, is 50 meters a real problem on anything other than approach? We watch altitude on an altimeter, which is critical. Ditto for airspeed. And an iPhone isn't legal or wise for an approach, but even if it was, can anyone fly closer than 50 meters?
