just flew to spokane to be at the lancair homecoming this weekend.  had to

stop in billings and jury-rig the heater valve to stop the turbo intercooler

bleed from heating the cabin.  as it was already 100 F on the ground, the

added 40 degrees was not wanted.  what a piece of crap design!  i am going to

design a valve and distribution assembly that works--i will let you know when

it is ready.



on a brighter note--when i blocked the heat flapper valve, i got another 10

kts in TAS.  flew from BIL to GEG  424 nautical in under two hours, including

climb to 12,500'



was getting 280 kt TAS @ 31" MP with a ground speed of 245 the entire way.

god this plane is great.
