Hi all:

Just noted an item and thought you, who have been there before me, may

have some suggestions:

Working on a partially complete 235 kit I noted about 1/4" clearence

between main gear aft attach bracket (GM5) and the forward face of the

center aft spar (with the gear nice and perpindicular to the main spar

and tightly butted up to the forward attach bracket bearing in GM4).

The plans call for taking up the space with a BID layup but was

wondering if a shim of 1/4" X 2" AL or phenolic might be better for a

gap this large.  If AL is preferred, does anyone know what type of AL

(2024T3/6061 etc) the original GM5 is fabricated from?

Thanks for the help.
