Hello Eric,

I am building a Lancair 360 and received the following email from Amber

Riddell at Lancair today.

I must say that I am disappointed in your warranty and while I had hoped to

install your MTV-12B prop and spinner on my plane, I must now consider

other alternatives.

Please consider the fact that as a builder, we cannot simply bolt on your prop

and spinner and then go flying. It is not possible to begin the initial

fitting and installation of the cowling until the prop is installed. And I can

assure you this is a very time consuming process and many months can go by.

Question: Would MT be willing to demonstrate some flexibility with regard to

the warranty period? For example, 12 months or 300 hours from FAA signoff of

aircraft as being airworthy but not to exceed 24 months from delivery.

Please consider this suggestion seriously. It would be of significant benefit

to new MT customers/builders without placing any undue extra burden upon MT.

Dear Angier,

thank you for your e-mail.

Yes we will demonstrate some flexibility concerning our warranty period. We

understand the fact that you can not simply bolt on our prop and spinner.

Until now, no builder has asked us about our warranty period and we do not

calculate the 12 month exactly to the date of delivery too.

Your suggestion of 12 month or 300 hours from FAA signoff of aircraft but

not to exceed 24 month from delivery sounds very good. We think that we

change to the suggestion you have made and maybe we change our terms of

sales.

We will agree to your suggestion.

Please do not hesitate to contact us again by any further question you

have.

Best Regards.
