Advanced Aviation has recently developed Ventral Strakes for the Lancair IV

and ES. The Strakes have been flight tested and are currently being flown on

four Lancair Propjets, 2 Garrett powered and 2 Walter powered.

Test results have shown a big improvement in yaw stability in both high and

low speed flight. When making power changes and during gear up and down

transitions, the Strakes minimize yaw resulting in less rudder input to

 maintain coordinated flight.

Weighing in at less than 3 pounds, the Strakes are molded in one

piece and have dual fins. Installation is quick and easy as they simply bond

to the lower trailing edge of the fuselage. Tests results have shown no

 speed loss.
