Hello

I am looking for an older, inexpensive ES for sale

does anyone know of someone that has one for sale?

would prefer the smaller 210 hp engine - as it should be cheaper

and older simple avionics, as it should be cheaper.

Having troule getting financed for experiemental plane (even though I got approved for $200k on a colubmia 350)

but cannot do what I want to a columbia.

Or, if someone knows of a nicer lancair reasonable priced, that the owner will finance with like 1/3 down

for qualifed applicant, let me know.

The reason you will have a really hard time getting a loan against a
homebuilt aircraft is insurance.

If you are planning to use the the aircraft as a collateral, the
lender will want to protect that collateral by requiring that the
aircraft be insured. All risk hull insurance for a homebuilt
aircraft is expensive and unreliable. Even if you are able to get
insurance this year, there is no reasonable expectation that you
will be able to get it next year or a few years from now.

Your only hope for financing a homebuilt aircraft is to get a loan
against some other asset or an unsecured loan.

I've been flying my ES for 12 years and have never
had a problem getting or renewing my hull insurance.  The ES has a
comparatively stellar safety record to the IV's and Legacy, so in addition to
insurability, the rates are pretty reasonable.

Wings financial used to be northwest airlines credit union. So they do a lot of aircraft. But you do not need to work for the airline anymore to join. Looked today. Rate still 2.99. Same as 2 years ago. And .25% discount for auto pay.

Trouble getting a loan?  Not really – indeed not at all!

I secured a business loan for my company based solely on my Lancair ES-P.

The “used aircraft” value at the time was $375,000. I had the hull insurance at $300k and that was the line granted by the lender.

Never had a problem renewing insurance and Skysmith shopped to ensure my rates stayed reasonable.

Anyone know the difference in insurance cost between an ES and an ESP?
