They offer a higher compression piston, 10.1, for a little more horsepower (about 20 more). Does anyone have any experience with this engine configuration, or can anyone provide me with some guidance to help me decide whether to select this option? Thanks. However, the overhauled (Don George in Florida, who has done a lot of Lancair engines) advised against deviating much from the design figures. The Sky Ranch Engineering Manual gives real insight and into how many different "fixes" there have been in aircraft engines over the years and an understanding that when you make changes there is the possibility of introducing new "problems."
